20ft vs 40ft Container
Compare space, access, transport and conversion use before choosing a container size.
Short answer
A 20ft container is easier to place on compact sites. A 40ft container offers roughly twice the length and is often more efficient when the project needs more continuous floor area. The right choice depends on access, use and delivered cost.
Start with site access
The cheapest unit is not the best choice if a truck or crane cannot position it safely. Measure road width, turning room, overhead cables, gates and lifting distance first.
Compare usable space
A 40ft unit gives a longer uninterrupted layout. A 20ft unit can be easier to divide, relocate or use as one part of a phased project.
Compare the delivered project
Include the container, transport, lifting, foundations, openings, insulation, services and finish. Compare total project cost, not only the purchase price.
